The City of Union’s Spring 2017 Newsletter has published! Here’s the online version. Inside this newsletter, you’ll learn about plans for the 2017 Easter Bunny Egg Hunt, the citywide garage sale, the city’s Property Maintenance Code, and much more!
The City of Union will be flushing fire hydrants starting on Monday, April 10, 2017. City crews will be working from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The work should be completed by Friday, May 4.
Anyone experiencing rusty water problems with laundry may call city hall at 836-8624 for some rust remover product. The water will continue to be safe to drink at all times. For questions, call 836-8624.
The dates for the city-wide garage sales has been set for June 8, 9, and 10. That is a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. No permits are required for these three days. Hours can be from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. There will be more information coming about signing up to have addresses of sales posted on the web site and to be included in an ad in the newspaper.

Union now has the capability of emailing residents/property owners their utility bill. The bill would be emailed directly to your in-box and will include all the information that has always appeared on your utility bill. Plans are to start this with the utility bill that will be sent out on November 30 but residents/property owners can sign up at any time. Please fill out the following form and drop off at Union City Hall.
Union has received the 2016 water and sewer rate survey. Union is the lowest out of over sixty communities in combined water and sewer rates. Please see the entire survey below.

Effective October 1, 2015, the City of Vandalia will no longer be handling City of Union income tax. It will now be handled by Central Collection Agency. They are currently notifying Union residents and information was also included in the summer City of Union newsletter. Please find both a copy of the letter and information included in the newsletter.
