RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS

MEETING OF COUNCIL

February 11, 2008

Mayor Goudy called the City of Union council meeting to order on February 11, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Attendance was taken and the following council members were attending the meeting: Mr. Bruns, Mrs. Terry, Mrs. Kyle, Mayor Goudy, Mr. O’Callaghan, and Mrs. Perkins.

Other city staff members present were John Applegate, City Manager, Denise Winemiller, Clerk of Council, and Joe Moore, Law Director.

Mayor Goudy called for a moment of silence.

          1.       Mayor Goudy asked if there were any additions or corrections of the council minutes from the January 28, 2008 council meeting.

There were no corrections so Mr. Bruns moved that the council minutes be approved.  Mr. O’Callaghan seconded the motion.  Mrs. Terry abstained and the other council members voted for the motion.  The January 28, 2008 council minutes were accepted as prepared.

          2.       In the citizens and visitors portion of the agenda, there was no one that indicated that they would like to address the City of Union council.

          3.       Open Agenda

Mayor Goudy reminded everyone that residents had until February 12, 2008 to submit a letter if they were interested in filling the vacant council seat.  The announcement was given on January 28 so they would like to select someone by the next council meeting.

Mayor Goudy asked Mr. Applegate if the staff was ready for the upcoming snowfall.  Mr. Applegate assured her that they were prepared.

Mrs. Terry said that she had received some calls about dogs barking incessantly. She asked if the city could put something in their spring newsletter concerning that.  Mr. Applegate said they did have regulations on barking dogs and if dogs barking late at night were bothering citizens, they could call the police.  Mr. Applegate agreed they could put something in the newsletter.

Mr. Applegate said that at the last meeting Mr. O’Callaghan had asked when the work would be done on State Route 48.  Mr. Applegate said that since that time, he had met with the representative from the Ohio Department of Transportation and the State Route 48 Road Resurfacing Project would be moving forward with a start date of some time in July or August.  Mr. Applegate said the plans for the road resurfacing have been reviewed and approved.

          4.       Mr. O’Callaghan moved that the council meeting be adjourned.  Mr. Bruns seconded the motion.  All concurred and the February 11, 2008 City of Union council meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
